It's good to grow!

We recently built a set of five big wooden planters, two metal ones (which were donated) and other garden essentials to enhance the bare playground of Fayland's Children's Centre, a local child care facility.

Stuart, who makes the lovely Furzedown Window boxes which are for sale at The Big Day Out, has designed and hand-made these fantastic wooden planters, in which the toddlers and their families are enjoying growing flowers, fresh fruit and vegetables - a fun and delicious way to learn about healthy eating and where food comes from!

There was a fun celebratory party in August when FACE members and the toddlers, families and staff at Faylands enjoyed a tasty meal from what they've been growing. Thanks to Sarah Forrester who initiated this project and all the staff and children who are looking after the garden with such enthusiasm!
